The Teknofest TRNC 2025 organized by the Türkiye Technology Team (T3) will be held at the old terminal building of Ercan Airport between the dates of 1-4 May 2025. Eastern Mediterranean University which is among the institutional stakeholders of this year’s event will also participate in the finals of Teknofest TRNC 2025.
Being one of the biggest Festivals on Aerospace and Technology, Teknofest has received over 15 thousand applications this year. As part of the festival which will also feature leading technology companies from Türkiye, participants will compete to realize their projects to be carried out in 7 different categories. Over 50 thousand visitors are expected to the said festival.
3 Teams from EMU to Compete in the Finals
As a result of evaluations conducted within the scope of the festival, 3 teams from EMU has qualified for the final round of the event. Supervised by the EMU Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Chemistry academic staff member Prof. Dr. Huriye İcil, the HUNEC2025 team will be competing in environment and energy category. The second team from EMU, team AGROBOTIX supervised by Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering academic staff member Prof. Dr. Qasim Zeeshan will participate in agriculture category. Adding more, the third team from EMU titled the EMU Riders will also compete in the category of agriculture under the leadership of Faculty of Engineering, Department of Computer Engineering student Yusuf Eren Çakır.
The members of EMU teams are as follows: HUNEC2025 – Süleyman Soyel, Feray Soykut, Elif Doğru, Seval İkizoğlu, Ayni Öztürk, Tuğba Bayırlı and Selin Salioğlu; EMU AGROBOTIX - Abdulmalik Bileid, Murtada Mohamed, Muhammad Umar, Oussama El Salibi, Osinachi Mbah and Ayşegül Gazioğlu; and lastly, EMU Riders Team - Emirkan Eşme, Arda Günsüren, Yusuf Eren Çakır, Sümeyye Kaynak and Mithatcan Sonsuz.
