Registrations for EMU Continue Receiving Great Interest

Registrations of new students who earned the right to enrol in the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) for the 2025 – 2026 Academic Year continues with full speed. With its internationally recognized approach to education, strong academic staff, and diverse range of programs, EMU continues to be a top choice for both local and international students.

Referring to the deep interest in the registration period as a testament to EMU’s quality in education, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç underscored that students are provided with all kinds of academic and social support to ensure they take firm steps towards future. Meeting with the new students and families who visited the University for the Registration Procedures, Prof. Dr. Kılıç said; “As EMU, we are committed to supporting our students not only academically but also in their social, cultural, and personal development. With our strong academic structure and international collaborations, we prepare you for the future in line with global standards. We are delighted to have you with us. Welcome to the EMU family”.

Also addressing the families, Prof. Dr. Kılıç said; “The children you have entrusted to us are very precious to us. We provide every opportunity to ensure they have a safe, peaceful, and successful educational journey. Welcome to the EMU family”.

 

What did the Students say?

Azra Kutlu –Radiotherapy – Medical Imaging Techniques

Emphasizing that the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus is truly a university country, Kutlu stated she has chosen EMU for being a deep-rooted university. Kutlu, who has been following EMU through social media, expressed that the university has a beautiful and enjoyable campus. She stated that she is very impressed with EMU’s facilities and is delighted to be studying here.

Menekşe Defne Paralı – Psychology (Turkish)

Paralı stressed that EMU is one of the best and most recommended universities in Cyprus. Paralı, who researched EMU following guidance from their high school counsellor, said that EMU, their first choice, impressed her with its modern campus and student-friendly environment. She said; “I am so glad I chose EMU”.

Rümeysa Bakmaz – Pre-School Teacher Education

Bakmaz shared that knowing EMU is a public university gave her confidence. During her research on social media, she was particularly impressed by the university’s location, campus, achievements, and academic team. Highlighting how the campus reflects the island lifestyle, Bakmaz said she already feel at home at EMU.

 

Aytuğ Tuğra Abalı – International Trade and Business

Abalı, who was curious about life in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, said he was very impressed by the architecture of EMU’s large and impressive campus. Highlighting the importance of scholarship opportunities in their decision-making process, Abalı noted that EMU’s reputation as a respected university on the international stage was one of the key factors influencing his choice.

 

What did the Families say?

Yücel Paralı

Paralı referred to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as a “second homeland” and shared, “Our choice was influenced by EMU’s distinguished academic staff and its reputation as the island’s leading university. It ranks highly in both national and international listings. The quality of education, the campus, the people, and even the climate and atmosphere made us feel right at home. Unlike in big cities, we don’t have any safety concerns here”.

Melih Telli

Noting how much the educators had praised EMU, Telli shared, “After looking into it ourselves, we saw that it truly deserves the compliments. We also kept up with the university through social media. Exploring the campus only increased our confidence and admiration for it”.

Aysel Bakmaz

Highlighting that EMU’s status as a public university was a key factor in their choice, Bakmaz shared, “The university offers excellent education with a safe and impressive campus, designed entirely with students in mind. Since our daughter will be living away from us for the first time, we felt completely confident and comfortable sending her to EMU”.

Serkan Abalı

Saying that they are impressed with EMU’s achievements, Abalı continued; “As a father, I brought my son here without any hesitations regarding safety and social life. We love Cyprus”.

 

 

Registrations Continue

EMU’s Registrar’s Office announced that registration is ongoing for both international students and citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The additional placement process for the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) and the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) is also underway. Registrations are being handled by the Registrar’s Office along with the Türkiye Promotion, Liaison, and Registration Offices.
