DAU EMU RIDERS TEAM WILL TAKE PLACE IN TECHNOFEST FINALS WITH DATAHARVEST PROJECT

The TEKNOFEST KKTC 2025 finals, which will be organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3) and this year, the Eastern Mediterranean University (DAU) participates among corporate stakeholders, DAU EMU Riders team will take part in the DataHarvest project developed by the EMU Riders.

At the TEKNOFEST KKTC 2025 finals to be held between 1-4 May 2025, at the Old Terminal Building of Ercan Airport, the DA al EMU Riders team has designed a project consisting of a digital system to make agriculture more efficient and smarter in Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic (KKTC).

EMU Riders team consisting of DAU students carried out this project by Computer Engineering Department students led by team captain Yusuf Eren Çakır with the contributions of Mithatcan Sonsuz, Sümeyye Kaynak and Software Engineering Department students Emirkan Eşme and Arda Günsüren.

DataHarvest: The New Face of Smart Farming

The EMU Riders team commented on the subject: “DataHarvest: The New Face of Smart Agriculture is designed with the theme. In KKTC, it is becoming more and more difficult every day due to the limitations of agriculture, drought and traditional methods. DataHarvest offers a modern solution to these challenges by collecting information such as temperature, humidity and precipitation with sensors placed in the field. Data is transferred to the internet, analyzed with artificial intelligence and provided to farmers understandable suggestions on a simple screen. The system that works with solar energy attracts attention with its open source structure and solutions specific to CNC. Furthermore, it can be implemented at about 50% more affordable cost compared to similar systems. This makes it an accessible technology for individual farmers and small businesses. Thanks to DataHarvest, farmers now know better what their soil needs. Agriculture increases yields, water waste decreases, and environmental sustainability is supported. DataHarvest is a domestic, smart and economical solution for SME farming. ”
