CMPE 598 Graduate Seminar Course WEEKLY HOMEWORK : Registered Students shall submit a half-page homework after each research topic presentation. Follow the link for the contents and format requirements. This course is compulsory for all MS students and it is conducted in a series of seminars. Methodology of scientific/engineering research, professional ethics, importance of M. Sc. thesis as a research medium, and contribution of such activity to the University, to community, and to the individual will be stressed. An overview of departmental facilities useable in conducting thesis will be given. Departmental research interests can be surveyed through summary presentations by the faculty and where suitable actual thesis presentations by new/would-be graduates. The course is prepared to introduce the new MS students to ways and means of engineering research by presenting the departmental research facilities, and the research interests of the faculty. It will acquaint the students with the information on how to prepare research presentations and publications. Main objective is to establish a base for breaking into research areas in the department and prepare for presentation.
